Drop a model anywhere on the view. For Waffle and Contour it's raycast top-down into a heightfield (overhangs are flattened — those strategies build height maps). Print prep keeps the real mesh at its real size: .3dm files are converted from the unit system stored in the file to mm; STL/OBJ/PLY carry no units and are read as mm.

Slots are cut half-depth at every crossing — one set notched from the top, the other from the bottom — so the ribs slide together. Slot width = thickness − kerf for a snug press-fit.

The SVG is sized in real millimetres (hairline = cut). Import at 100%. Parts are labelled B# (↕) and A# (↔) for assembly.

Method notes

Rib stations are evenly spaced with a small edge inset. Each rib's top edge samples the height surface every span/120 mm; at each crossing a slot is cut to HALF the surface height there (top set from above, bottom set from below), so pairs meet exactly. Parts are shelf-nested tallest-first onto your sheet width. Same engine as the legacy Waffle Structure tab.
