Dither Camera
Point the camera at anything for a live dither, or load an image. Freeze a frame to fine-tune and save. Nothing is uploaded.
Mark-based screen — dots, lines or hatching on a grid, sized by Spacing.
Fills the frame — full-bleed at any aspect (crops to fit).
Higher = crisper live preview, more work per frame. Export uses its own size below — but this setting DOES change the printed mark pitch, because the pattern is scaled to match what you see: the same spacing is about twice as fine at Fine as at Fast. The millimetre figure under Spacing is the one that prints.
Centre to centre of the marks. The millimetre figure is what this becomes printed across an 8.5 × 11 in PIAF sheet — spacing × 11 in ÷ the preview px the pattern is rendered across, which is also what the export scales it by. Under about 2 mm the ridges fuse into a flat field and the tone stops reading as tone, which is the same threshold Tactile Image's texture pitch uses.
These settings shape the file; the file itself comes from Export at the top of the page. It writes the current aspect at the chosen size, with the dither pattern scaled to match the preview. Freeze a live frame first for the sharpest source.
